15 Celebrities Who Refuse to Join Social Media

Well, that might seem boring, but they just don’t like social media, which of your favorite stars do you think are on the list?

Being a celebrity redefines the whole notion of privacy that one had known until then and one can’t imagine the impact of this lifestyle when the eyes of the whole world are on one. To regain some privacy, some celebs choose to live in remote places, recharge their batteries as often as possible away from the spotlight or simply avoid social networks. Finally, it’s not the only reason that keeps them away from these stuff, but that we’ll see together right now.

Emily Blunt

Emily Blunt

Even though she is not yet 40 years old, she describes herself as a “dinosaur for social networks”. She obviously doesn’t understand much about it and leaves it to the youngsters (as she says). Anyway, she allows herself to be photographed more and more by her husband John Krasinski since he is well present on Instagram, therefore it’s not impossible that she ends up on it as well.

Jake Gyllenhaal

In the stars with deep philosophical thinking category, the gifted Jake said admitting to staying away from social networks “For me, it’s the product of being consumed by your smartphone. Everybody’s looking down and nobody’s looking up.” I will leave you to reflect on this piece of wisdom.

Jennifer Lawrence

Lawrence is clearly on the podium in the category of the young international star to which everything succeeds. However, she had already declared that she never wished to register on any social network, stating “if you see an account with my name on it, it’s not mine”. So obviously she doesn’t like the social media because of the free meanness of the people now that I think about it is quite logical. I guess no one likes it, right?

Brad Pitt

The good old Brad doesn’t really want to create a Twitter account either. He confided that he could see the usefulness of the thing so he could answer all kinds of charges but that he would have preferred to create an account when he was younger. You might think he’s not that old, but still, he’s old enough to be Jean Castex’s father or something!

Daniel Radcliffe

Ever since the Harry Potter saga, he has been doing ambitious and offbeat projects, gradually getting rid of his image as a little wizard. The actor had confessed in an interview that he was terrified of seeing the criticism that Internet users could post about him, and so he had chosen not to open the can of worms by refusing to create a Twitter account. He may do all the possible and imaginable shit, but since “Swiss Army Man” he got my eternal respect.

Benedict Cumberbatch

While he was at a convention to answer questions from his fans and they asked him why he wasn’t on Twitter, he said, “You just want me to be there because I’m not. If I had an account you’d be tired of it. I just can’t be concise when I’m expressing myself and that’s the point of Twitter.” At the same time, it is true that people who make threads of 40 tweets are boring.

George Clooney

Well, everyone can agree that George Clooney is a sensible man, which is why he said that for him people don’t need to know what celebrities are up to all day long by following them on social media. He said that social media is a great way to burn your career by posting something sensitive or by expressing yourself badly, just like those stars who make mistakes on Twitter.

Robert Pattinson

According to his own admission during an exchange with his fans on Reddit, Pattinson declared to have thought of creating an account on social networks only in his “darkest moments”. So already it gives an idea of his judgment on the subject. But later on, he also confessed to going on Twitter almost daily, most likely with an anonymous account. If this is the case, he is the fake account that follows you with a picture of a hot chick that you have never even seen.

Scarlett Johansson

She had revealed in 2011 that she didn’t want to open a Facebook or Twitter account just to share stuff from her private life. Can we just say “amen” to that sentence? Ever since then she’s just been making a few appearances on the various platforms to check out memes about the Avengers, which frankly makes her even cooler. Yay, I love her.

Kate Winslet

By nature relatively discreet, the talented Kate Winslet is quite happy that no one in her family has an account on social media. Kate is an old-fashioned person, and she wants to avoid her children being bothered on social media and that kind of things.

Bradley Cooper

Bradley is not a huge fan of social media either, since he says it’s “a matter of taste”. Even though he recognizes the qualities of these stuff to promote films, works, music, he believes that as an actor, if you know too much about him, it’s harder to forget his “real” personality when you see him in a film. He isn’t stupid and he’s also good looking.

Mila Kunis

“What I do and who I am are two different issues. To me, it’s very important to separate those two things.” So this is Mila’s lesson in wisdom as she clearly wants to keep her private life to herself, which one can only understand.

Keanu Reeves

Don’t forget that Keanu Reeves is the most beautiful person in the world, but he is also talented, modest, generous… And he doesn’t want to come on social networks for the simple reason that he enjoys his private life and feels that he has “nothing interesting to share” in his life. That’s a humbling lesson for your old college friends who post 800 pictures of their kids a day.

Emma Stone

Emma Stone is a little more critical towards the social media than the other people on this list. In pointing out this “need to be liked, to be seen, to be validated” she describes a way of life she doesn’t really understand and (probably) doesn’t like too much. Yeah, don’t get her too hot on the subject, obviously, Emma.
