59 Best 2022 Games That We Can’t Wait to Play

The complete list of the best games that will be released in 2022

Best 2022 PC and Console Games That We Can't Wait to Play

We expected a lot from the best games of 2021. Sadly, several of the titles we were looking forward to didn’t come out at all. So, if you have been feeling unsatisfied over the past 12 months, then we have good news – things are getting better! Stay tuned as in the following; we are going to introduce games that we’re looking forward to in 2022!

2022 promises to be a much better year for gamers. In the new year, just the month of January has already surprised us with an excellent PC port of God of War and an incredibly playable Rainbow Six Extraction. Finally, nearly everything that has slipped through the cracks in recent months has now landed in 2022.

Still, there are a whole bunch of new releases that the company prepared for this year from the very beginning. To ensure that we haven’t missed anything interesting, we have compiled the most exciting titles into a list that we would like to share with you. These are our editorial list of games worth waiting for in 2022.

Sifu – the older Kung Fu, the better?

For a long time, there hasn’t been a decent fighting game. And one, too, that would have an original idea for itself, besides spectacular attacks and evasive maneuvers. And Sifu has one because each death will be associated with the aging of our hero in the next attempt. Sounds good, right? And what that will be like remains to be seen.

CrossFire X – potential conqueror of Call of Duty

Wondering how many of you are familiar with the title CrossFire? Most likely not many, yet it is one of the most played Free-2-Play games in the world. It suffices to say that the title had a billion registered accounts at its peak. It is hardly surprising that someone wanted to make this Asian phenomenon palatable to the rest of the world. And since those people are the creators of hits like Control, Quantum Break or Alan Wake, there is no need to worry about the quality of this shooter.

Lost Ark – new, highly anticipated MMO

Here we have another free production, which will attempt to conquer the hearts of Western gamers after celebrating triumphs in the Far East. It is even almost guaranteed, judging by the emotions that this racist MMORPG has been evoking for some time. If it is right – you’ll be able to find out in this trailer.

Total War: Warhammer III – continuation of the excellent strategy series

Whatever the case, this third installment of the strategic Warhammer promises to be very interesting. Not only will we get two previously unseen factions here, but the fights themselves should have a much greater dynamic. Fans certainly don’t need to be convinced.

Dying Light 2 – will it be better than Cyberpunk 2077?

We have been waiting for this title, right? Not sure if you guys remember, BUT Dying Light 2 was on our list of most anticipated games of 2021. Technically, the game was almost on the list for 2020 because that was the original rumor, But we all know what happened to that. Anyways, After many months of waiting, we could finally see with our own eyes what it’s like to live in a post-apocalyptic world full of the living dead, where any decision can make a difference.

Horizon Forbidden West – the game PS5 owners have been waiting for

This is a title that everyone who has ever bought a PlayStation 5 has eagerly waited for. No surprise there, because the first adventures of the red-haired Aloy in a post-apocalyptic world full of robotic animals caused quite a revolution on the PS4, the second time on the nextgen simply has to be the same. The expectations are very high. Are they going to be fulfilled? We hope so. We have our fingers crossed.

Destiny 2: The Witch Queen – a new addition to the great online shooter

https://youtu.be/PYM7KDrx_Ho

In spite of the many years that have passed, Destiny 2 is still doing quite well. True, this title has its ups and downs, while its creators can cause quite a bit of controversy with their often incomprehensible decisions. Nevertheless, the announcement of any new addition can send the most loyal fans into a frenzy. And so it is in this case.

Elden Ring – Dark Souls through the eyes of George R.R. Martin

I guess we love getting beat up by games once again. And now that we’re so eager to swallow anything that makes us feel like the last llama, I guess we can say that challenging games are definitely on the rise again. Will this new game from the creators of the Dark Souls series be another way through the torture? Oh well, we will see. But perhaps the collaboration with the father of Game of Thrones will at least bring a slight relief in this title. Not realistic? Maybe, but hope dies last, as we all know.

GRID Legends – a new look at a well-known and popular racing series

From the first teaser, it’s clear that the new GRID will entice you with over 100 different tracks, a comprehensive editor for custom races, and a number of different modes, including a single-player campaign with a story. Those races might be interesting for another reason, though – this is the first installment in the series to be made under the wing of Electronic Arts. To fans of the genre, it will be a kind of test to see what path the Codemasters studio, which EA acquired, will take.

From action-packed adventures to innovative indie games, start your year right with these must-play games.”

Shadow Warrior 3 – a totally crazy polish shooter

In the case of this game, saying “crazy” is like saying nothing. Anyway, the Polish developers completely overdid it in the last part of Shadow Warrior, serving super bloody destruction and plenty of over-the-top male humor. Plus, since, as is usual in this industry, each new part has to be bigger, to be better, more spectacular, we are probably in for a real thrill ride.

Babylon’s Fall – a spectacular blow for fans of network cooperation

Are you familiar with the Bayonetta series? Or Nier: Automata? If you are, you already know what to expect from this production. The studio PlatinumGames cut its teeth on fast-paced, highly spectacular combat, many times with gigantic, demanding bosses. The Fall of Babylon will be something of a culmination of all their experiences. It will feature similar gameplay yet with a slightly stronger focus on cooperative play. Who is going to be tempted?

Gran Turismo 7 – the king of car sims is coming to PS5

And yet another jewel from the house of PlayStation, which has been making not only fans of these consoles glow for several months. And this is not surprising because Gran Turismo has always tried to outdo us with an even more advanced car simulation. This time around, it will be more realistic, more natural, and above all, nextgen. Wonder if this title will convince the undecided to buy a PS5. So what do you think?

Triangle Strategy – a nostalgic return to the old days

For some, this will probably be a minor old-school mistake. But for others – an insanely beautiful return to the past. Therefore, in case you remember with nostalgia the times of classics like Final Fantasy Tactics, and you own a Switch, then you should be interested in this unusual tactical RPG. Hours of fun are guaranteed.

Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla – Dawn of Ragnarok – the perfect appetizer before God of War

Basically, we should not mention any supplements to already released games. However, we simply had to make an exception in this case. It is not only a really great expansion, but also it revolves around Odin, its son Baldur and the fight against the forces of Jotunheimn and Muspelheim. In one word – just the thing to kick off the new God of War.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands – Borderlands as if from a fairy tale

https://youtu.be/0-RAqyHU48M

Hey, borderlands fans – have you longing for the crazy atmospheres and the countless different weapons? Now, Tina’s Wonderland is where you’ll find all of that and much more. There’ll be dragons, magics, and zombies. Plus, there’ll be a whole bunch of completely crazy ideas, with the cherry on top in the form of a four-player co-op play. Oh, this is going to happen.

The Settlers – a new/old look at a legend

There we go; it’s another straggler. I do not know if you remember; this return after years was supposed to be released last year. But alas, things didn’t work out. This time, nevertheless, we already have an official release date and the first very concrete announcements, which announce pleasant, relaxed gameplay and a return to the roots of the entire series. Anyway, let’s hope it’s worth the wait.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin – a new beginning for “Cool” fans

Without a doubt, Final Fantasy is a strong brand. That is probably why its creators can afford such experiments. But Stranger of Paradise is a rather unusual spin-off. First, it was developed by the creators of such an ambitious series as Ninja Gaiden or NiOh. Second, its history goes back to the first “Faunal”. It could be a real treat for fans of the series, or not, even if you don’t like significant challenges.

Moss: Book II – this game will be worth coming back for on PS VR

Some people will probably say that PS VR glasses are a thing of the past and hardly anyone plays them anymore, but since this year we’re supposed to get their second nextgen version, which will be compatible with the previous one as well, we just can’t forget about a title like the second part of Moss. Finally, its first part was praised by many as one of the best games for Sony’s glasses. Is the second one going to be able to keep up with them? We’ll see.

Syberia: The World Before – another extremely atmospheric adventure

While Syberia may seem a bit weak compared to the other productions mentioned here, this adventure series has such a long history behind it that it’s impossible to ignore its third installment. Mainly because its creator – Benoit Sokal – died last year. So, this is going to be a kind of epitaph for him.

Weird West – ah, this untamed, dark Wild West

So what about RPG in the wild west? Not the usual one we know from the movies, though, but a lot darker, bloody and fantastic. You already know the curses, werewolves, supernatural forces and so on. Things sound and look pretty good. And best of all, that title will be included in Xbox Game Pass on launch day. Not playing it would be a sin.

Ghostwire: Tokyo – we probably haven’t seen a survival horror like this yet

While this survival horror may evoke mixed feelings on first contact, thanks in no small part to the specific, slightly VR-like gameplay, we shouldn’t forget that the father of the Resident Evil series is behind it, who also worked on hits like Devil May Cry and The Evil Within. So, we can be almost sure that the atmosphere here will be tremendous. So what about the rest? We’ll see.

Elex 2 – The gothic magic lives on

It might not be top of the erpeg league, the gameplay itself still promises to be pretty awkward, possibly a bit better than before, but we’re betting that this title can still lure a whole lot of gamers in front of their screens. So how is that possible? Simple wood is not wood, so if there’s at least a bit of gothic in it, it’s enough.

LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga – Star Wars in a playful way

Now, this has been a while in the making. Finally, we heard about this story for the first time back in 2019. Obviously, it was not that easy to unite all the parts of Star Wars into a humorous whole. So let’s hope the result actually blows us away or, at the very least, amuses us quite a bit.

Atomic Heart – BioShock on Russian steroids

Here’s one of those unassuming projects that over the years, before its release, became almost a legend. Acclaimed as the Russian version of Bioshock, the atomic heart simply enchanted gamers. And not only in terms of atmosphere or obvious allusions to other, familiar productions. That title looks merely great. We have a guaranteed hit when playability goes hand in hand with that.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong – Vampire RPG to wipe away the tears

Since we have to wait a long time for the fabled Bloodlines 2 after it was miraculously saved from cancellation, Fans of the virtual Vampire: the Masquerade should set their eyes on this production. It may not have such a large scale or impressive graphics, but since this is a racial RPG set in this extraordinary universe, with choices that have their consequences, it is probably worth having this title on your radar, right?

Forspoken – is it the black horse of 2022?

The makers of this title have big ambitions – to make the most beautiful game with an open world. And guess what? There is a high probability that they will succeed. Suppose you take a look at the previews so far. In that case, this story of a young girl – Frey – who is miraculously transported to a mysterious world full of magic looks absolutely crazy. Right up nextgen’s alley. Oh, this could be a hit.

Stray – cyberpunk in a cat edition

This feline adventure in a cyberpunk world was originally supposed to be released at the end of 2021. However, the last few months haven’t been very kind to the gaming industry, with this title, like so many others, falling behind by several months. Hopefully, it will turn out well for all of us – the creators will manage to polish up this unusual adventure, and we’ll get a great-looking and fascinating gameplay.

The Day Before – a network survival game we’ve been dreaming about

https://youtu.be/jm55tR4LdNs

If you have always wondered what a real next-generation The Division could look like, you will find the answer in this production. It is true that the theme of the game is closer to the survivor DayZ, since instead of gangs here, we have a plague of zombies; however, in terms of details and quality of execution, it is a whole different class. We just hope that it doesn’t turn out to be a bad joke. It does look too good to be true. Then again, Who knows, perhaps a delightful surprise awaits us after all?

Diablo Immortal – Demons haunt smartphones

The majority of you are probably longing for Diablo 4. Sadly, the various turmoil at Blizzard has made this a distant memory. So we will have to look forward to the mobile spin-off of the series. So what else can we say – Diablo has a great desire to cut a big slice of the mobile pie. And it will probably be successful. No shortage of people willing to have that kind of fun.

Sniper Elite 5 – another challenge for snipers

Karl Fairburne, the electronic entertainment industry’s most famous sniper, has returned to wreak havoc behind enemy lines. This time, however, though, being sent to the French front in the turmoil of World War II. Of course, with this change of location, we also get improved ballistics, next-gen graphics and an even more brutal and bloody ending. Tempting to see for yourself, isn’t it? You have the chance to do so because the new Sniper Elite will be available via Game Pass on release day.

Steelrising – you probably haven’t heard of this version of the story yet

Is there anybody who doesn’t like alternate versions of well-known stories? Well-chosen and interesting realities can do a good job, exactly like in this production, which is set in the time of the French Revolution, but with plenty of futuristic atmospheres. So we’ve got an army of robots fighting revolutionaries, as well as our fantastic-looking mechanical heroine who’ll probably have to clean up the whole mess.

Saints Row – Saints Again

It was not so long ago that no one would have thought that the completely wacky Saints Row series would get a complete reboot instead of another part. It is an idea to refresh this amazing brand, though, at first glance, the whole thing seems a bit too juvenile. And although we can’t count on dousing our houses with septic tanks or hitting our opponents with giant purple dildos, we needn’t worry about the absurd humor. Finally, the name is the program.

Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown – long-awaited racing revival

Surprisingly, actually, the Test Drive Unlimited is making a comeback. Better said, it is trying to be reborn from the ashes since the last installment of the series was over a decade ago. That is a long time, particularly since the competition has not been idle all these years. But secretly, we hope that the detailed recreation of Hong Kong Island will provide the perfect backdrop for these races.

Scorn – Something for fans of foreign climates

We have been waiting a long time for this incredibly atmospheric horror inspired by the works of Hans Rudolf Giger. Fast forward five years, through two collections, and this game hasn’t been here yet. But now, finally, our game has an approximate release date. We may finally be able to see with our own eyes this dark, living world that sprang from a nightmare.

Starfield – the most anticipated title in recent years

https://youtu.be/z9OkGGuHiAI

Even though we don’t know much about this game yet, it evokes incredible emotions. And it is not just that Microsoft snatched the star file money from under Sony’s nose by buying Bethesda. That phenomenally promising space epic, which developers themselves refer to as Han Solo Simulator or Skyrim in Space, is the first completely new brand from the developer in nearly a quarter of a century. To put it another way, it can’t fail.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl – a creepy return to Zona

You know how much time has passed since the last game in this series? Thirteen years! Therefore, it is not surprising that this production has been accompanied by emotions since its first announcement. Particularly since the memory of “Stalker” is still alive among gamers, not only will the new game offer a new, unfamiliar story, but it will also have a much larger, more open and lively world, as well as several decisions that can affect the course and end of the adventure. So there is something to look forward to.

Horizon Call of the Mountain – and PS VR2 must have their jewel

We mentioned nextgen PS VR before. Since any new device needs a sample of its capabilities, in the beginning, we will get one here as well. So what can make the biggest impression? Any new game in a hugely popular universe like Horizon, obviously.

Hellblade II: Senua’s Saga – a reason to sigh for Xbox owners, and not only

Based on what Microsoft showed at last year’s The Game Awards, there was hardly anyone whose jaw didn’t drop. In this case, graphics, sounds and atmosphere are absolute masterpieces. Were you waiting for a true next-gen for the Xbox X series? Well, you are seeing it right now. (Here you have it).

A plague tale: Requiem – a medieval plague adventure, approach two

The first installment of the adventures of two siblings in a world plagued by a rat infestation turned out to be a delightful surprise. At that time, it didn’t even need a big budget to enchant players, which turned the game into an incredible success. Now imagine what the developers can do with next-generation technology and a much richer background.

Hogwarts Legacy – you too can be a wizard

https://youtu.be/rQfRGDivqVU

memory, find – Harry Potter, and all is clear. It is a wonder that no one before has dared to seriously tackle the subject of a game set in the universe of this young wizard. It may be a matter of license, or perhaps they were just afraid of a big backlash. But judging by the first preview images of this mixture of first-person shooter and action, which takes place long before the events known from the books, it seems that we won’t be disappointed.

God of War Ragnarok – a must for every PlayStation fan

Is there anybody who hasn’t been waiting for this title? And now that the last part of God of War is no longer console exclusive but has been released for the PC, the chances are that PC owners would also like to see a continuation of the story of Kratos and his son fighting against the Norse gods. For now, however, we know only one thing – this title will be released for PlayStation 5.

Little Devil Inside – this magnificent turkey will surprise you

Little Devil Inside is a little gem that you would love to play immediately after seeing the trailer. It is just a shame that it has been out of luck for almost seven years, and instead of a long-awaited release, apparently in the home stretch, it kept disappearing from the scene. Fingers crossed that this original-looking adventure finally reaches the finish line this time and enchants us the way we dreamed it would.

Avatar: The Frontiers of Pandora – Return to Pandora

Chances are you know we’re in for another big James Cameron spectacle this year with the second installment of Avatar, right? And if you do, then you can’t miss the game either. And while we don’t know much about it yet, putting this project in the hands of the talented team that has already delivered us both parts of Division is a good sign.

Gotham Knights – Gotham gives fields to the youth

It has been a long time since there were games with Batman, isn’t it? Creators of previous productions with this superhero must have gotten bored because they could only roll out a single theme. That is why now there is not just one hero from Gotham, but several – starting from Robin and Nightwing and ending with Batgirl and Red Hood. And each one of them will have their own way of fighting and their own development tree. This is enough to make me look forward to this title like a pastry in the face.

Redfall – cooperative hunt for vampires

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3pWjcqXnP2g

Vamps, dangerous weapons, magical abilities – you can see that the creators of Dishonored have not been idle in the last few months. And although I wouldn’t put my hand in the fire for the imminent, i.e. this year’s premiere of this title, that by no means keeps us from waiting. With cake on our faces, of course.

Company of Heroes 3 – it won’t be easy to outsmart the Fox

Here’s a great treat for fans of war strategies. This third installment of this excellent series will take us to Italy and North Africa, where most likely we will meet the desert fox Erwin Rommel himself. Moreover, we will get better graphics, a more impressive destruction system, and an active pause. Oh, we are going to have some sleepless nights.

Homeworld 3 – in space, no one will hear the great battle

And if anyone doesn’t have enough strategic challenges, we will probably see a big comeback in 2022 after years. It will also pay tribute to the brand’s most loyal fans, as we’ve been waiting for another installment of three-dimensional space battles for over 18 years. It’s enough, isn’t it?

Outcast 2: A New Beginning – a dream come true for gaming dinosaurs

Over two decades ago, this first Outcast had it all. Its innovative voxel-based graphics, the amazing story with an absolutely phenomenal twist, and the Stargate-like atmosphere were all memorable. And so much so that fans begged for a sequel, which sadly never came. Until now, that is. Surprisingly, though, somebody finally remembered this extraordinary universe. And that is a good thing since it fully deserves it.

Trek to Yomi – Kurosawa would be proud

I would suggest you not to use a black and white filter here. That’s intentional. First, because it allows you to artistically depict the carnage on the screen, as no matter how you look at it, you have one samurai with a razor-sharp katana and a whole host of enemies, and secondly because the title is meant to remind you of the films of Akiro Kurosawa. Not sure about you, we bought it.

Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition – Goal: save from oblivion

Only the oldest highlanders probably remember this game. That makes the remastered version all the more to look forward to. What a shame it would be if such an adventure diamond were to be completely forgotten. Sadly, the refreshing of one of the best productions of the now-defunct Westwood Studios takes some time. At some point, the original source material has been lost. So all we can do is wait and hope.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns – Superheroes + XCOM equals…

Marvel Characters have already been the heroes of almost every game genre. We have played with them in LEGO World, had online battles story-based adventures, and slugged it out with them. There seems to be one thing we haven’t had yet, though – a decent tactical EP game where battles are fought in turns. Or, at least, one that would resemble the dynamics of the XCOM series. Which is what we’re going to get here.

Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope – the cuckoos are at work again

Mario and the crazy Rabbids are a truly explosive mix. The latest installment in the series already proved that. The second part features more of the same in addition to the space adventure – crazy tactical clashes with a whole new set of enemies. So, in other words, you have an informer? You need to wait for this production. You will certainly not be disappointed.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League – a crazy adventure with a team of misfits

The DC fans are probably rubbing their hands. Besides preparing an adventure in Gotham this year, they will likely visit Metropolis since that is where the action of Suicide Squad will take place. Besides, in keeping with the title, we are faced with a truly breakneck task: killing the greatest superheroes of the Justice League, first of all, the evil Superman. Well, guess what, we are in for a real scoop.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 – the apple of every Switch fan’s eye

A title that probably needs no introduction. With its second part, One of the most innovative games of the last few years returns. Will the makers serve us something revolutionary again? They probably won’t have to, but I’ll bet they won’t be able to resist.

Witchfire – Witches are screwed up

Like a year ago, we have this title on our list again. The gloomy shooter from the Adrian Chmielarz-led studio seems to have taken shape, as its approximate release date has finally surfaced. But be warned, it is better not to get too excited – first of all, the game is going to be released in Early Access. Plus, your know what that means, right?

Jagged Alliance 3 – Igor Says “Haraszo”

Following the rather mediocre last variations of this series, some people probably gave up on it. But it is perhaps worth giving it another chance. We may finally get a worthy successor to the cult couple. You know, like after 23 years! But no matter, importantly, the most iconic characters of the series will appear in the new part. Love creators, do not spoil it!

Evil West – a spectacular slaughter in the Wild West

We had already an alternative version of Wild West on our list (of the most anticipated games of 2022). But this production is taken over by our domestic specialists in joyful destruction, who have previously brought us, for instance, The Shadow Warrior series. So it will be dynamic, spectacular and probably bloody. But that is what it’s all about, isn’t it?

The Callisto Protocol – the spiritual successor to Dead Space

There is no denying that the gloomy trailer for this space horror will send a shiver down your spine. However, adding to the emotion here will be the fact that the former creators of the first Dead Space are behind this project. Who knows, maybe we should prepare ourselves for a truly terrifying experience, then. This would be nice.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum – Tolkien’s world expands again

Once again, The Lord of the Rings is attracting a lot of interest. This has already been taken care of by Amazon, who is slowly preparing for the premiere of its new, famed series. Creators of this game could fit well with the secret adventures of Gollum, who will additionally fill the gaps between the Hobbit and the trilogy. We can only hope that it will be able to keep up with them.

So which game are you most looking forward to in 2022?

This is basically all we noticed from this year’s premieres. Some of you are probably wondering, “Where’s Diablo 4, Beyond Good & Evil 2, or even GTA V?”. Well, the appearance of the first of them this year is more of a pipe dream. And it probably makes no sense even to mention Grand Theft Auto V. It is clear that it will sell, but is not it a bit of an exaggeration to call such eternal remasters the most anticipated games? True enough.

We are aware that we might have overlooked something. There are, after all, many games coming to the market every year. Moreover, several projects are still shrouded in mystery; for example, there are three new games from the world of Star Wars – we know that one of them is scheduled for release in 2022, but we don’t know yet if it will be Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order 2.

That is why we would also like to know what games you are most looking forward to in 2022. Let us know them in the comments, and we will try to complete our list on the website with the productions that received the most votes.
