Hideo Kojima Confirms Xbox Collaboration Project

Kojima to work on the game he's always dreamed of.

Hideo Kojima and Xbox Collaboration

As had been rumored in recent few months, Hideo Kojima, the famous Japanese game developer announced at the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase 2022 that he has been working on the game he always wanted to make in collaboration with Xbox Game Studios.

Nevertheless, the project has not been shown, since it has not even been specified what kind of game it is, because ” it will take a while to see it “, however, it has been explained that the partnership with Microsoft will serve to use Microsoft’s cloud technology to offer a cloud-native experience.

Curiously, video game industry insider Tom Herdenson announced this afternoon that “Kojima is going to be at the show but it looks like he’s not going to reveal what he’s working on”. In doing so, he explained:

“it makes a lot of sense since Kojima Productions asked me to take down the article he published (in which he leaked the horror game Overdose). He will be at the event and it looks like he will be talking about what he is doing. There are rumors that it’s a cloud-based game but beyond that it doesn’t look like we’ll be seeing gameplay of Death Stranding 2 or a teaser of Overdose, it will just be the announcement that Kojima is working on an Xbox game.”

If all rumors that have been swirling for months are true, Kojima could be working on at least three video games. This recently announced project would join the horror game Overdose and the sequel to Death Stranding, which was confirmed by Norman Reedus in several interviews. It remains to be seen which one comes first, of course this project with Xbox Game Studios seems to be a long way off.
