When Will the X-men Debut in the MCU? Marvel Has Reasons To Delay the Announcement

Recently Marvel announced new plans for its upcoming productions, but we look in vain for mutants among them.

X Men MCU

The San Diego Comic-Con, which was held last week, delivered many surprises for Marvel fans. Indeed, the studio declared the completion of Phase Four and unveiled details of new productions from its universe.

As many as two new Avengers films were also announced, completing the sixth phase of the MCU. Although the company failed to announce all planned productions for the upcoming years, we have still not received any details about the return of the X-Men to the big screen.

Journalist Devin Faraci shed new light on the lack of announcement of plans to use the mutants. According to Faraci, Marvel will have to wait until 2025 for the licensing agreement with FOX to use the mutant characters to expire.

While the studio can only use those characters who were featured in earlier X-Men movies, this involves employing the same actors.

This is exactly how Patrick Stewart was allowed to return to the role of Professor X in Doctor Strange’s Multiverse of Madness.

“One reason is the situation with his contract with FOX, which will run until 2025. So if they don’t want to use the same actors, they need to wait until that contract expires.” The Journalist says.

We shouldn’t expect announcements of mutant movies and series at September’s D23, in which Marvel will announce further plans to develop its universe.

According to the journalist, the X-Men topic will remain on the sidelines throughout The Multiverse Saga, and it will only be in the seventh phase, which will begin after 2025, that productions telling the adventures of mutants will begin to emerge.
