Smokey dish Burger

Smokey dish Burger

How to make it

Wash your lettuce leaves and let them drain thoroughly. If you tear off the thicker parts of the lettuce stalks, you will be left with smooth leaves, and the burger will hold together better.

Slice the burger bun lengthwise and place the cut sides on the hot grill for a moment. Brush the bottom with barbecue sauce.

Separate the ground beef into individual portions and use your hands to shape them into round burger patties. Season them with salt and pepper and grill them on both sides. The cooking time depends on the thickness of the burgers; inside, the meat should not be completely dry but should be nicely pinkish. When you finish the burgers, put a slice of cheddar cheese on top. This is the best for baking because of its consistency.

Then fry 2 or 3 slices of bacon per portion; fry the onion cut into half circles in the oil until golden brown.

On the lower half of the bun (the one smeared with BBQ sauce), place the lettuce leaves, grilled meat, slices of fried bacon and fried onions on top.

Add mayonnaise mixed with smoked chilli to the top of the bun from the inside, then add two slices of cucumber and cover it. You can tie the burger with a toothpick.

Vegetarian burger with spinach pesto

How to make it

Combine the balsamic vinegar, the chopped rosemary and the pepper in a bowl with a bit of olive oil and marinate the portobello mushrooms in this marinade for about 20 minutes.

Meanwhile, make the pesto: place all the above ingredients in a blender and blend, adding olive oil gradually to make a thinner paste.

Slice the hamburger bun lengthwise and grill it on the cut side. Salt and pepper the marinated mushrooms, then grill them on both sides; toward the end of the grilling, place slices of smoked mozzarella on top.

Brush both halves of the toasted bun with spinach pesto on the inside. Place the washed, and drained baby spinach leaves on the bottom of the bun (the quantity is up to you, you can substitute other leaf lettuces according to taste and the market offer), put the roasted mushrooms and mozzarella on top, then add the sliced red onion and cover.

The preparation is quick and straightforward, and the result is literally irresistible.

Our TIP: This type of burger is better suited to a bun without sesame seeds, as the great taste of marinated mushrooms combined with herbs and pesto will stand out better.

Asian turkey burger

How to make it

Cut the mushroom lengthwise and grill it, cutting side down. Salt and pepper the slice of turkey breast and place on the grill, taking about 3 to 4 minutes on each side to ensure the slice is cooked through.

Spread the teriyaki sauce on the bun and start layering the little gem salad, the turkey slice, the marinated ginger and the soy sprouts. Cover the top, spread with teriyaki with half of the bun and serve.

What is teriyaki sauce? This is a typical Japanese ingredient. It’s a thicker sauce with a base of soy sauce and a mixture of various spices, including chilli, ginger, onion, lime, wine and garlic. It can be found in Asian grocery stores. Instead, you can use avocado paste mixed with finely chopped chilli.

Lamb burger with gorgonzola

How to make it

Cut the mushroom lengthwise and grill, and prepare the lamb the same way as the beef in the first “smoky dish” burger recipe. Chop the apple into about 0.5 cm thick cloves, which are lightly fried.

When the meat is almost done, place the roasted apple on top and sprinkle it with gorgonzola, it will melt very quickly, so just take a moment.

Spread ketchup on both halves of the mushroom. Arrange the rinsed and drained spinach leaves on the bottom in several layers. Lay the burger on top of the spinach, top with a few red onion rings and cover with the top half of the bun.

It is better to choose a red and sweeter apple for this burger. It will mellow out the strong flavor of the gorgonzola and the lamb.
