Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla – The Forgotten Saga Gameplay Expansion Pack Unveiled

It is a free expansion in which we will play the role of Odin himself.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla - The Forgotten Saga

The Ubisoft studio has just revealed to us The Forgotten Saga add-on for Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla. The developers have put together a several-minute video that shows the free expansion in action.

The DLC is set in the wake of the events of Dawn of Ragnarok, the big paid add-on that was released a few months ago. We will set off as Odin to the frigid land of Nifheim, which is divided into four regions. It will be our task to defeat Hel, the ruler of the land of the dead.

The gameplay within the add-on will be slightly different from the classic Valhalla formula. The entire game is to have a roguelike character, and as a result, the developers increased the bar when it comes to the difficulty of defeating opponents.

The maps, meanwhile, are designed in a somewhat corridor style, with many hidden areas or shortcuts to unlock. Indeed, in The Forgotten Saga we will die more often than usual, with each death meaning starting the game over again – although with already unlocked shortcuts or retaining some of the equipment.

New weaponry has been prepared for the add-on, however, we won’t be able to transfer weapons from the base game or earlier DLC. For more details, check out the video below.

Assasin’s Creed: Valhalla – The Forgotten Saga has no release date yet, but it is most likely a matter of the next few weeks. This expansion will be free for owners of the basic version of the game on all target platforms.
