FIFA 23 and Juventus: EA Sports Bids Farewell to Piemonte Calcio

EA Sports now has exclusive rights to the Old Lady

FIFA 23 and Juventus

EA Sports has confirmed the good news for all fans of Italian team Juventus. This Serie A team will return to Electronic Arts and already in FIFA 23 and we will play the team that finished fourth in the previous Italian league season.

Electronic Arts officially confirmed in 2019 that Juventus would not appear in FIFA 20, and that players could take on Piemonte Calcio instead of the Italian giant. The agreement with Konami has apparently expired, as the Old Lady will end up in FIFA 23.

EA Sports has confirmed that they are “the exclusive partner of Juventus in the gaming space,” so this means we should not expect players or the club itself to appear in eFootball or in items from other developers. The official stadium, logo and outfits of the Old Lady’s players will appear in FIFA 23.

They have also confirmed that former soccer player Claudio Marchisio will join as a FUT hero, and that current player Dušan Vlahović will play the role of EA SPORTS FIFA 23 ambassador.

David Jackson, VP of Brand for EA SPORTS FIFA, has commented on the announcement:

“We are excited to reaffirm our deep commitment to Italian soccer through this exclusive partnership with Juventus. This phenomenal club means a great deal to us and our fans, and will enable EA SPORTS to continue delivering the most authentic and comprehensive interactive soccer experience possible in FIFA 23 and beyond.”

Giorgio Ricci, Juventus Chief Revenue Officer, added a few words:

“We are proud to return alongside EA SPORTS. The partnership with EA SPORTS goes beyond the concept of traditional cooperation. We share this project together, looking to the future, communicating with new generations, riding the wave of new trends, urban culture and lifestyles. We chose EA SPORTS to go one step further because it is a partner that shares our vision and ambitions. We are delighted to be on this journey with a brand that stands out for its originality, uniqueness and innovation, just like Juventus.”

The partnership between Juventus and EA Sports is expected to last for several years, and the team will probably also appear in next year’s EA Sports FC. EA Sports will be offering a new digital soccer game next year that will not be associated with the FIFA brand.
