FIFA 23 Will Be Without Russian Clubs and National Team

EA Sports is standing in solidarity with the Ukrainian people.

While FIFA’s organization has come down hard on the issue, the Russian national team or clubs will not be featured in FIFA 23. Indeed, EA Sports has released a clear message.

In the wake of Russia’s unprovoked brutal attack on Ukraine, big companies started imposing their own “sanctions” on Vladimir Putin’s country. This did not escape the gaming industry either.

PlayStation and Microsoft began to withdraw their goods and services from the country. Electronic Arts stopped sales of its own products, and removed the Russians from FIFA 22.

However, the upcoming FIFA 23 is not going to have Russian clubs or even national teams from the very beginning. The editors of Eurogamer asked EA to comment on Russia and FIFA 23, and the developer explicitly stated that they will be removing all the Russian clubs, plus the Russian national team from FIFA 23.

“EA Sports stands in solidarity with the Ukrainian people and, like many voices throughout the soccer world, is calling for peace and an end to the invasion of Ukraine. In line with our partners at FIFA and UEFA, EA Sports will not include the Russian national team or Russian clubs in the FIFA 23 game.” states the announcement from EA Sports.

The new installment of the popular football game series is scheduled to be released as early as September 30, 2022.

We have received, among other things, the first trailer and specifics of the famous game. Owners of PC can expect a truly next-gen experience after long times waiting. Sadly, the same cannot be said for those who plan to play the title on Switch.
