Halo Infinite Launches Beta Test of the Co-op Campaign

The network co-op was actually meant to come much earlier. Halo fans are now being introduced to at least a first version.

Halo Infinite Launches Beta Test of the Co-op Campaign

The development team at 343 Industries has released a first test version of the co-op mode for Halo Infinite. This allows gamers to play with up to three other people on the network and relive the story campaign or experience it for the first time. Furthermore, there is reportedly a tac map on which various missions can be played from the front.

The beta version is currently not yet public, however, and anyone interested has to be invited specifically to access it.

This is true for the PC version on Steam. Xbox players can join the beta if they have purchased the XBox Game Pass Ultimate, the XBox Game Pass or the campaign individually. In addition, Xbox Live Gold membership is required for online play.

Co-op might be ready by the end of August 2022

The testing period will end on August 1, 2022, according to the developer. What is unclear is whether 343 will then launch another testing phase or go live directly. It is usual for an open beta to be held for everyone after a closed beta, in order to test server capacities and stability, for example.

This may also help to find more players for crossplay. Thus, console and PC communites should thus be able to play together in a joint session.

Halo Infinite’s co-op mode was originally planned for the release version of the game. Subsequently, 343 had to delay it, as resources were shifted to the main game’s launch date, which was already pushed back.

Meanwhile, the release is scheduled for the end of August 2022, according to the development team. There will also be a split-screen co-op mode for local matches. The release of this mode has not yet been confirmed, though.
