Hogwarts Legacy Won’t Have Quidditch in the Game

Apparently, according to several sources close to the project, Hogwarts Legacy is not going to include Quidditch, or at least it will not be possible to try your hand at this original activity that we have seen be a key part of the Harry Potter story.

Hogwarts Legacy

Hogwarts Legacy will reportedly not include Quidditch: according to several sources who claim to be close to the project, the peculiar and original magical sport will be a part of the game world but we will not be able to try our hand at it directly.

Already at the time, Quidditch wasn’t confirmed by the authors of Hogwarts Legacy, who clearly had to give up this feature so as not to take resources away from all the other aspects of the adventure.

Hogwarts Legacy will not feature Quidditch, or at least it will not be playable

The official Hogwarts Legacy FAQ reveals how “the broom is a means of transportation for exploring and traveling in Hogwarts Legacy, and there are also broom races. Gamers can attend Flying Lessons to learn how to master the art of broom flying.”

Thus in this case, for the time being at least, there is no mention of Quidditch, the wizarding sport also practiced at Hogwarts. There was a way to see a filmed scene within the presentation trailer where a character clearly appeared in Quidditch gear, but then it is possible that this was only a non-interactive plot sequence, during which maybe it is possible to observe as a spectator the artificial intelligence playing the sport.

Still, Hogwarts Legacy will let us use the flying broom as mentioned but only to explore and travel to Hogwarts locations.

That is certainly not the only reason why we also recall that within the game it will be possible to ride animals, such as hippogriffs, to move around the magical world. In fact, Hogwarts Legacy is an open world and there will be large spaces to explore, inside which to find ingredients to create potions, side quests and more.

It is possible that Quidditch may be confirmed later, but the fact that it is not mentioned even now leaves us a bit in doubt.

As a reminder, it was confirmed by Warner Bros. Games that Hogwarts Legacy will premiere during the winter of 2022 and, therefore, in late December.

Released under the new Portkey Games label, the game is expected to be available on the latest and second-to-last generation platforms, namely PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC. A porting for Nintendo Switch is also planned.
