Returnal: Will the PC Version Soon Be Available on Steam?

These are the reasons why we think it is going to happen.

Returnal

Is the announcement of the PC version of Returnal just around the corner? If recent entries in the Steam database are anything to go by, then yes.

For several weeks now, more precisely since the release of the multiplayer and new game modes on the PS5, vigilant users have observed almost daily updates in the relevant database of the Steam platform.

Initially, under the codename “Oregon”, terms like “third-person shooter”, “female protagonist”, “sci-fi” and “rogue-lite” were added.

Later on, more unique names like “Atropos” – the planet where the title is set – and “Tower of Sisyphus” – which hints at the new game mode – “Returning” and “Helios” – the spaceship of Selene, the protagonist. Also, the Steam achievements have been updated and translated into 19 languages.

Although it’s not yet clear when we can expect an official announcement or even release of Housemarque’s arcade rogue-lite shooter on PC, we shouldn’t have to wait much longer.

An imminent announcement would be in line with Sony’s strategy of slowly bringing PlayStation-exclusive titles from the past few years to the PC and thereby expanding the player base.

This will also be accomplished by the title’s recent inclusion in the three-tier PS Plus service. Should there be any news about the PC version, we will keep you updated.
