The PlayStation Game Size has revealed the date for the start of the preload of The Last of Us Part 1 for PS5. People who have pre-purchased the digital version of the remake will be able to start downloading game files beginning August 26, that is exactly one week before launch.

In case you don’t know, PlayStation Game Size is a Twitter account which closely monitors changes in the PlayStation database.

It has several times in the past unveiled early and accurate release dates, preload dates, and the sizes of digital versions of games coming to the PlayStation Store, so we may consider it a very reliable source.

And as reported in an earlier news story, the size of The Last of Us Part 1 is a little under 80GB, which is almost double when compared to the remaster of the original released on PS4 back in 2014.

What’s more, The Last of Us Part 1 is scheduled to be available on PS5 starting September 2, 2022. While we wait to hear new details about the changes Naughty Dog made in the remake, features introduced thanks to DualSense were disclosed and undetectable loading times were promised thanks to the SSD on Sony’s flagship console.
