The Last of Us: Part I Developer Defends Remake, the “Most Meticulous” Project He’s Seen

The new work by Naughty Dog has been criticized by fans who consider it unnecessary.

The Last of Us Part I

Ever since its announcement at this year’s Summer Game Fest, The Last of Us remake has drawn a lot of criticism from a group of gamers who feel that it is an unnecessary work by Naughty Dog, because the original and the remastering are still good choices, despite the graphical advancement being more than evident.

Nevertheless, there is another sector that advocates this project (now called The Last of Us: Part I), although even the PlayStation studio itself has raised its voice to defend it. For instance, the developer’s animator Robert Morrison apparently was not happy about it being considered a “crash grab”.

“It’s the most meticulously constructed and crafted project I’ve seen or been a part of in my entire career. It has the highest level of care and attention to detail possible,” Morrison explains in a message on his personal Twitter account, feeling so strongly about it that he added a reminder for that tweet on the day of the game’s release.

“The price of the game is out of my control and the value is subjective to everyone. You can decide for yourself if you want it or not. All I’m saying is that I’m in awe of the work that an incredible group of people have put into this project. There is a tremendous amount of passion in it,” he finishes.

Whether it ends up being true will have to wait until the release of The Last of Us: Part I on PlayStation 5 on September 2, 2022, although it is also currently in development for PC. For details of the new multiplayer of the saga we will have to wait a little longer, particularly next year, when they promised us news.
