The Unethical Bug: Sims 4 Allows You To Have an Affair With Your Own Family Members

New bug breaks taboo

Sims 4 romance

It seems The Sims 4 has been experiencing some strange problems lately. Its latest update not only kills Sims at a dizzying rate, but also makes possible something very illegal and unethical.

When we write here about “one’s own family”, we are not at all referring to having an affair with one’s wife or husband. In fact, we mean, for example, grandmother, mother, twin sister.

Yes, you read correctly, unfortunately. There must have been something wrong with EA, because all of a sudden sims that are part of the same family started considering incest.

Recently, a major new update arrived for The Sims 4. What it adds is a couple of new gameplay mechanics. However, it turns out that along with them, fresh bugs have appeared in the game.

Among them are those from the “most bizarre” category. Recently there were problems related to the sudden and drastically fast aging of characters. And players don’t like it very much.

The Sims 4 brings new possibilities to players

The next bug, however, appears to be even more serious. The “want” system, in which a given sim will let you know what it wants (a job, a relationship, etc.), opens up new possibilities and goals for players.

In theory, this sounds great, and in older games in the series it did quite well. However, it now appears that the developers forgot to exclude options like “I desire my own son romantically.”

On Reddit, there are more and more examples of the bug. A user posted a screenshot in which a seemingly nice old lady romantically desires her son.

Other people in the comments write about a similar relationship between a daughter and her father. There was even a report on EA’s support page regarding the desire to go on a date with her twin sister. Not good.

“We just wanted to confirm that wanting to date a family member is something we know about, we’ve played it ourselves, we’re working on it. We want to fix it ASAP, thank you for all the bug reports, we appreciate them. Of course, we are also working on the aging bug.” explained on Twitter one of the developers responsible for the game

The company is fortunately aware of the bug. However, we don’t know how long Sims 4 players have to deal with a not-so-ethical problem.
