House of the Dragon: The Game of Thrones Prequel Makes Its Debut!

Following boisterous announcements and many months of anticipation, it is finally here. The first episode of the HBO series House of the Dragon is now live on HBO Max.

Based on George R.R. Martin’s book Fire and Blood, the series is about the history of the Targaryen family and events taking place 200 years before the time in which Game of Thrones was set.

In the first episode we will see Viserys host a tournament to celebrate the birth of his second child. Rhaenyra will also welcome her uncle Daemon to the Red Keep.

The House of the Dragon series stars Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Sonoya Mizuno, Fabien Frankel and Rhys Ifans. Also: Milly Alcock, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Emily Carey, Harry Collett, Ryan Corr, Tom Glynn-Carney.

The rest of the House of the Dragon cast include Jefferson Hall, David Horovitch, Wil Johnson, John Macmillan, Graham McTavish, Ewan Mitchell, Theo Nate, Matthew Needham, Bill Paterson, Phia Saban, Gavin Spokes, Savannah Steyn.

George R.R. Martin is co-creator and executive producer; Ryan Condal is co-creator, co-showrunner, executive producer and writer; Miguel Sapochnik is co-showrunner, director and executive producer; Sara Hess is executive producer and writer.

Jocelyn Diaz, Vince Gerardis, Ron Schmidt also serve as executive producers; Directors are: Clare Kilner, Geeta V. Patel; Greg Yaitanes is the director and executive co-producer. This production is based on George R.R. Martin’s novel Fire and Blood as mentioned earlier.
