House of the Dragon Has Too Many Sex Scenes According to Matt Smith

Daemon Targaryen's character, which Matt Smith will play in the House of the Dragon, is among those we will see having bed scenes in the HBO Max series.

House of the Dragon

Over the course of this week we learned about the statements made by one of the producers of The Dragon House, Sara Hess, regarding the way in which sexual violence will be addressed in this prequel to Game of Thrones.

As opposed to the original series, in House of the Dragon we are not going to see explicit violence, but its consequences on the victims will be shown, as well as the role of women in a patriarchal society.

Matt Smith believes there are many sexual scenes in The Dragon House

Matt Smith, who will play Prince Daemon Targaryen in the HBO series Max, recently spoke out about the sex scenes we will see in House of the Dragon.

“You find yourself asking, ‘Do we need another sex scene?” explained Matt Smith to Rolling Stone magazine. “And they say, ‘Yes, we do. I guess you have to ask yourself: what are you doing – are you representing the books, or are you diluting the books to represent the time [we live in]? And I actually think it’s your job to represent the books truthfully and honestly, as they were written.”

In case there remained any doubt, Matt Smith gave assurances that the character of Daemon Targaryen is going to have several bed scenes in the series, “Slightly too much, if you ask me.”

In its day, one of the most characteristic elements of Game of Thrones was the portrayal of sexual scenes and bloody battles in which anyone could die, and it appears that the House of the Dragon will continue along the same path as its predecessor, while correcting some of its mistakes.

The first season of The House of the Dragon will be released on HBO Max on August 22. We are eagerly waiting for the premiere of the series, what about you?
