We heard about an episodic series set in the Cars movie universe as early as last fall. It seems that the Disney and Pixar teams have not abandoned the project, and we are about to see new adventures of Lightning McQueen.
The trailer for a new series called Cars on the Road has hit the web. See below what awaits not only Lightning this time, as well as Mater.
The Cars is a 2006 American feature-length animated film created by Pixar in collaboration with Disney.
The movie was inspired by the true story of the town of Peach Springs in northwestern Arizona. Its sequel Cars 2 was made in 2011, while the third part Cars 3 was made in 2017.
Cars on the Road’s first season of the series will consist of nine episodes. The screenplay for all episodes was prepared by Steve Purcell (Merida the Brave).
Pixar studio is, obviously, in charge of this project. Purcell also assumes the position of director for the entire season. Bobby Podesta (Cars) and Brian Fee (Cars 3) are also sharing this function with him.
The premiere on the Disney+ platform will take place as early as September 8, 2022. What do you think about the series?
