Breaking Bad Creator Is Working on a New X-files-Style Series

It will be reportedly produced by Sony Pictures TV.

Vince Gilligan

Vince Gilligan, the creator of “Breaking Bad,” is currently working on a new series, which apparently will be very different from the concluding “Better Call Saul.” The project, in fact, is compared to the famous “X-Files” and “The Twilight Zone.”

The filmmaker had previously confirmed that he was working on “something significantly different” from his recent accomplishments.

The source of the new reports is the well-informed Deadline website. Apparently, the production company is Sony Pictures TV, and the whole thing “explores similar themes” to “The X-Files.”

The plot is reportedly “set in our world, but in a modified edition, “focusing on people and humanism in unexpected, surprising ways.”

This project is planned for several seasons, covering one larger story. There will be no shortage of Gilligan’s characteristic “combination of drama and humor.”

The work hasn’t started yet, as the filmmaker is only going on tour in search of interested stations and platforms.

There are apparently almost ten willing already. It is therefore possible that it will not be AMC TV, the filmmaker’s previous home.
