AEW: A Fight Forever Finally Unveiled, Trailer Confirms This Year’s Release

Get ready for another wrestling game!

AEW A Fight Forever

The THQ Nordic has finally unveiled the new production from Yuke studio. Set to debut sometime in 2022, the AEW: Fight Forever title is heading to as many as six platforms in total, since the developers have not given up on the previous generation.

In recent days, further leaks of AEW: Fight Forever have surfaced, so we finally got a full announcement – with the game heading to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC, and according to the publisher, it will be the “biggest tag team event” for the current season.

AEW: Fight Forever will offer players the ability to perform spectacular finishers, and through a cooperative mode we will jump into the ring with friends, who do not have to be in the same apartment. Developers have also provided team attacks, which will bring a “new level” of gameplay.

In the title there will be no shortage of expanded careers, customization of wrestlers, AEW-specific arenas, and developers promise a number of varied modes.

There will also be “more types of fights than you can count” included in the title. We currently don’t know the final release date, but wrestling is expected to hit the market sometime in 2022.

Kenny Omega, EVP at AEW and former AEW World Champion and AEW World Tag Team Champion, made the announcement this way:

“One of the very first things I did after signing a contract with AEW was to ask Tony Khan to assist me in assembling the best game development team in the world to create the best wrestling game ever. Well, we just hit the perfect finisher: working with global publishing and distribution powerhouse THQ Nordic on AEW: Fight Forever. THQ’s brand has long been synonymous with wrestling games. There is simply no partner with better qualifications to offer AEW: Fight Forever to millions of wrestling fans around the world.”

Yukinori Taniguchi, YUKE’s President and CEO, also added a few words:

“I am very happy and excited about the opportunity to work with AEW, which is bringing new life to the pro wrestling industry, and with the THQ brand, with whom we have created an entire era of pro wrestling games. Leveraging the knowledge we’ve cultivated over the years, we’re taking on this project with the best programmers on YUKE’s team to replicate the appeal of AEW in a video game to the highest degree possible. Our hope is that fans will enjoy the use of cutting-edge technology and the next evolution in professional wrestling gaming.”

Reinhard Pollice, an Executive Producer at THQ Nordic, makes no secret of his interest in the game:

“Kenny’s incredible vision for AEW: Fight Forever is built on his wrestling pedigree both in the ring and with controller in hand. We combined this vision with YUKE’S unparalleled history of wrestling game development, with the result being AEW, which draws on the arcade games that first captured the hearts of wrestling fans more than 20 years ago.”
