Dead Island 2 Still Alive and About To Be Reannounced Soon

Dead Island 2 disappeared from the radar after its initial announcement in 2014, though there were later plenty of unofficial reports about the game’s status.

Renowned and verified insider Tom Henderson now claims that the title is in the final stages in production and will see a re-announcement later this year.

The insider, via an article on the Try Hard Guides website, refers to his own sources, who are said to have insight into the Dambuster studio’s plans.

We would see Dead Island 2 again in the fourth quarter of this year, possibly at The Game Awards. And the publisher expects a release later this fiscal year, i. e. before the end of March 2023.

This title is expected to emphasize co-op gameplay and introduce some 5-6 brand new characters. Action is to take place in several locations, among them Hollywood and San Francisco.

Also, Henderson mentions that, According to his informants, production of the game is proceeding without major complications, and that those who have already played the game are looking forward to the release.

Dead Island 2 was originally to be developed by Techland, the developers, however, they preferred to focus on Dying Light, so the production was taken over by Yager Development studio.

One year after the game was announced at E3, the publisher Deep Silver decided to move the work to Dambuster Studios. Reason was said to be incompatibility of visions.
