Diablo 4 Microtransactions Details Leaked; Sadly, There’s Also a Combat Pass

These are all according to unofficial reports

Diablo-4

From the very beginning, Blizzard made it clear that there would be microtransactions in Diablo 4, but covering only cosmetic items. Now we’ve learned the as yet unconfirmed details, and the only concern is the presence of a “combat pass.”

A copy of a survey (in German) that Blizzard was said to have sent out to users has leaked online recently. It contained a question about which of the three proposed editions of Diablo 4 they would prefer to buy, together with a description of the content that would be included in them.

The proposed additions include cosmetic items with no impact on gameplay (clearly stated) – a package of five skins for each character (one per class), the mounts and armor for them and the angel wings known from Diablo 3. Besides, you can expect early access to the game in case of pre-order (from 2 to 7 days, depending on the edition).

Also among the bonuses will be a battle pass (Battle Pass) and a platinum. The descriptions indicate that the pass gives access to new challenges and adventures each season, the completion of which will reward you with unique cosmetic items or platinum.

The Platinum, on the other hand, is to be the in-game currency for which we will buy cosmetic items – presumably players will be able to buy Platinum with real money.

Some concern may also be raised by the presence of a combat pass. Such passes usually require daily activity if we don’t want to miss out on rewards.

It is a system specific to free-to-play games and, in the opinion of the community, it should not be found in a production for which we pay full price. Let’s remember, though, that we are still talking about unofficial and unconfirmed reports.
