As rumored online a few days ago, during the already passed opening broadcast of Gamescom 2022, a MMO game set in the Dune universe was announced. Funcom is responsible for the creation of the project.
At this point, at least two Dune-related projects are being developed by Funcom. The first one is Dune: Spice Wars, which the Shiro Games studio is developing.
The second is Dune: Awakening – an MMO focused on survival, the first trailer of which you can find below.
The material comes from the Gamescom Opening Night Live broadcast, and while it doesn’t reveal too much, it does give us a sort of first look at the world in which we will have to survive.
We will do this by playing on PCs, because the game is heading only there for now. Developers are already planning beta tests, and you can apply if you want to take part.
