Evo 2022: News From the World of Tekken and Street Fighter 6

Are we going to get a new Tekken game?

Tekken 8

Fighting game fans have plenty of reasons to rejoice. At the EVO 2022 tournament this weekend, the company Bandai-Namco unveiled some interesting stuff. This one concerns a free update for Tekken 7, but besides that it presents a teaser of some kind.

Apparently, it’s an excerpt from the second installment of the series, though it ends a bit differently. Alongside this, Capcom has shared a video where you can see two fighters from the upcoming Street Fighter 6 in action.

EVO 2022 and Tekken 8?

Well, we don’t know that yet. The publisher has been very covert about the subject for now. The mysterious announcement at the end of the video above gives room for various interpretations, including a new installment.

Could we find out more at the upcoming Gamescom show in Cologne? Only time will tell. On the other hand, Tekken 7 is getting an update on August 17, where the main focus is on balance improvements and new tactics.

Girls in Street Fighter 6

While Kimberly is a brand new fighter in the universe of Capcom’s series, she has a tremendous chance to appeal to players. Her fighting style is extremely dynamic and will likely take some time to master.

But it is hard not to recognize how smoothly she transitions from one attack to another, in order to finish off her rival not only with force, but also with spray paint at the end.

The other fighter is Juri, who had her debut in Super Street Fighter IV. This girl has a pretty big fan base and after the reactions online, her video did better than well.

Street Fighter 6 is scheduled to debut in 2023 – and the exact date is not yet available – on platforms such as PS4/5, PC and Xbox Series S/X. The latest installment will skip the Xbox One platform for unknown reasons.
