Gamescom 2022 proved to be a great success after the Covid-19 pandemic. Organizers have published statistics on the event, and they are most impressive. It turns out, inter alia, that the Gamescom Opening Night Live, the special broadcast that opened the fair, was viewed 12 million times.

The Gamescom 2022 is behind us. The fair was visited by more than 250,000 people from all over the world, while the official website reads that as many as 1,100 exhibitors from 53 countries could be found in the halls.

This event kicked off with the Gamescom Opening Night Live broadcast, which at this point has more than 12 million views, while the entire event program has more than 130 million views.

Since the event attracted a sizable community of gamers, organizers revealed that they have already started planning Gamescom 2023.

Finally, Gamescom is coming back in full force, despite significant challenges for everyone involved this year, the unmistakable atmosphere was palpable everywhere from day one. After over two years of digital-only events, this was a great joy for the industry and the community to be able to meet in person.

Says Felix Falk, Managing Director of Games at the German Gaming Industry Association.

If everything goes well, the next year’s show will take place between August 23 and 27. A day earlier, on August 22, 2023, the Gamescom Opening Night Live broadcast will be organized.

Lastly, we should mention that the next big industry event will take place on December 8. This is, obviously, The Game Awards. So far we know nothing about the other events.
