It has already been a few days since the release of Spider-Man Remastered on PC. And as it appears, the game’s files are a sort of goldmine of clues and some intriguing news for the curious.
As reported by VGC, there have been references found in them about the integration of games released by Sony on PC with a PlayStation Network account.
This would likely provide additional bonuses and standardize achievements earned by players on different platforms. Another interesting piece of information pertaining to PlayStation PC was dug up today. Is Sony possibly preparing its own launcher for PCs?
The integration of different accounts for PC is hardly new. In fact, numerous games from Microsoft that have appeared on Steam, for example, need an Xbox Live profile.
No wonder, then, if the Japanese would implement a similar mechanism for their forthcoming games scheduled to debut soon on PCs.
This is hinted at by phrases found in the game files of Spider-Man Remastered, such as: “PSNAccountLinked” and “PSNLinkingEntitlements.”
Many more questions, however, are being raised by the recent revelation that Sony is rumored to be making plans for its own launcher.
One suspects that PlayStation PC would represent not only an integration with a PlayStation Network account, but also directly with the PlayStation Store. That would supposedly allow Sony to sell games without intermediaries in the form of other launchers.
