Some of what makes Elden Ring an exceptional title is the way each weapon can completely change the way we play. A longsword will not swing like a rapier, and a big sword will never strike opponents in the same way as a halberd or pickaxe.

On the other hand, Skyrim has the same sword animations no matter what weapon we use. Precisely for this reason, a fan group came up with the Elden Rim Moveset Collection.

Now available on Nexus Mods, the mod adds over 130 new animations to “turn our Skyrim into an Elden Ring.” Those new animations apply to all weapons in Bethesda’s role-playing game, including fists, swords, daggers, axes, maces, broadswords, Battle Axes and war hammers.

In addition, this mod adds completely new animations for the two-handed grips, which now feel much more natural rather than the strange lopsided blows that our hero habitually performs.

Elden Rim Moveset Collection requires the ADXP | MCO mod framework to work. It is a mod that essentially locks the player’s movement to specific animations. This makes it impossible to move sideways while spinning the weapon. The simple fix eliminates Skyrim’s classic movements that make the animations lack credibility and variety between them.

Besides the Elden Rim Moveset Collection mod, the mod Skyrim Combos AI Revolution (SCAR) is also recommended. This last one makes sure that NPCs have access to the same animations as the player.

Lastly, to round out the experience, the Elden Rim Weapon Arts mod is also recommended, adding both Ashes of Wars and a jolting system that generates additional animations for enemies hit by weapons. All this content is available on NexusMods for free and created by fans of the series.
