Will GTA 6 Be Smaller Than GTA V? Leaker Reveals Size of the Game World

Is this a disappointment?

GTA 6

The GTA VI may be smaller than its predecessor. At least that’s according to one insider who shared his knowledge on Twitter.

Matheusvictorbr, who has already revealed information about Rockstar’s upcoming production, says that the size of the map will be similar to that of Red Dead Redemption 2, which, on the other hand, is somewhat smaller than Los Santos from GTA V.

One must take these reports with a pinch of salt, however, as they are not official information from the Rockstar studio.

What’s more, the tipster mentions that players will be able to visit the Caribbean. This should not come as much of a surprise, considering that the action of GTA VI is to be set in Vice City, which is a loose interpretation of Miami.

However, islands will not be part of the open world. So it is possible that the location will only be available at a certain stage of the storyline and you won’t be able to return to it later.

Similar situation occurred in Red Dead Redemption 2, when the main storyline took players to Guarama Island.

It is not out of the question that the GTA VI map will then be developed through DLC. New areas around Vice City may thus appear over time. Sadly, one can only guess at this point how the GTA Online add-ons will fare.

Matheusvictorbr suggests that the multiplayer mode is set to receive a modern version of Liberty City after the release of the new game, yet even the informant is unsure how this will work.

All Rockstar has officially confirmed is the fact that GTA VI is being developed. Since then the studio has not shared any specific information about the game. Speculation is that it should go on sale in the space of 2023 and 2024.
