Will the New Call of Duty Title Debut in 2023 After All?

Is Activision planning to surprise us?

New Call of Duty

For some time there has been talk that in 2023 the Call of Duty series will be taking a break and we will not get another premium installment. However, Activision is developing something. Call of Duty series is famous for the fact that basically every year you get another installment of it.

This was to change in 2023, because various reports indicated that Activision would then take a little vacation, with the series returning only in 2024. At least if we’re talking about the so-called premium installments, not free-to-play or mobile titles.

During the recent conference with investors, representatives of Activision seemed to contradict the above statement.

The corporation is in fact preparing “new premium content for 2023 and beyond.” Of course, it is about the Call of Duty brand, but that probably needs no further explanation. The executive’s statement is, sadly, quite enigmatic.

The thing is, it is impossible to say whether we are talking about the next installment or some kind of additional content for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, planned for the end of this year, all the more so since Infinity Ward is reportedly scheduled to have two years of support for the aforementioned game.

From other reports, it also seems that a standalone game Call of Duty: The Zombies is being developed. Maybe it will fill the gap.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 release is scheduled for October 28, and we will play then on PC, PS4, PS5 and Xbox.
