Tencent and Logitech Are Creating Their Own Gaming Console

Its destiny is somewhat surprising

Tencent and Logitech

The Tencent is an absolute giant of the video game industry – the owner of, among others, Riot Games (creators of League of Legends) and a major shareholder of Ubisoft. Now together with Logitech they are trying on their console. The point is that it is probably not what you might expect.

We have written about Tencent’s acquisitions many times before. Just this year, among others, Chinese giant took over 1C Entertainment, the owner of Cenega and the Muve store, amongst others.

So far, it has already invested billions in mobile game studios, in Epic Games ( where it has a 40 percent stake) or become the owner of Riot Games, the creators of League of Legends.

The company may now have gobbled up its gaming console. To that end, it has teamed up with Logitech, which will be the manufacturer of the hardware, signing it with its name as well.

As you probably already noticed – Tweet mentions support for “various cloud gaming services.” And this is what this hardware is apparently intended for.

Microsoft’s Geforce NOW, Stadia or xCloud are developing at a rapid pace, so who knows – perhaps by the time this device comes out it will already be one of the gaming standards.

For the time being, little more is known about it. It is worth mentioning, however, Tencent already patented the design of the portable console in 2020.

At that time, though, nobody was surprised, because such moves are normal in the technology industry.
