After working for more than 70 years in the industry.

Woody Allen

A legendary director, Woody Allen is someone whose everyone of us has probably seen at least one of his films. Sadly, the great cinematic icon today announced his retirement from film making.

The director, who is nearly 87 years old now, has been preparing to begin work on his last film, which will be the 50th of his professional career, and to mark the occasion he has talked to the Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia.

In an extensive interview with the mentioned newspaper, he disclosed that the latest project will be his last work and he would spend the last years of his life writing books, something in which he already has experience, by the way.

This will be the end of an important era for the international film market. Woody Allen had his better and worse moments, although his last work in 2020 entitled Rifkin’s Festival received rather mediocre reviews and is far from his best creations.

However, the next film is supposed to resemble Match Point and will be filmed completely in French with a French cast.

It should be acknowledged that almost 70 years of professional activity is a huge accomplishment, and Woody Allen will forever be remembered in the history of cinema.
