For less than two weeks, people interested in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II can participate in the open beta, in which we can test various modes, weapons, and arenas being prepared for the world premiere. In the meantime, Call of Duty Warzone 2 has also been extensively introduced.
Fans of the series have been rather plagued in recent installments by the forced download of the full version of a given installment of CoD and Call of Duty Warzone.
Using Call of Duty Modern Warfare as an example: to learn the origins of Task Force 141 (the story campaign), we had to download multiplayer modes, which often took up to 100 GB. There was no other way to learn the story for the single player.
The irritation of such situations was felt by Infinity Ward. In fact, its representatives – Joe Cecot and Jeoffrey Smith – told Gamestar editors that the multiplayer mode in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is not going to be strictly bundled with Call of Duty: Warzone 2.
Should we want to play only the MW2 multiplayer or play through only the story campaign in MW2, we won’t be forced to download the upcoming battle royale.
Despite the possibility of a “separate” installation, Cecot recalled that the integration between Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 will be quite deep.
