Would more titles get VR versions?

PS VR 2

Sony has announced that together with the release of new virtual reality goggles, the company will also be releasing updated developer tools to facilitate the creation of VR versions of games.

According to reports, the announcement was made at the CEDEC 2022 conference. Representatives of Sony announced that the development of games for PS VR2 is going to be possible using the standard SDK of the PlayStation 5 console.

This is supposed to facilitate the porting of games from other virtual reality systems, and also allow the simple creation of VR versions of PS5 games.

Furthermore, the updated software environment supports games developed on the popular Unity and Unreal Engine, meanwhile the goggles themselves will have controllers with button layouts that are similar to third-party solutions.

This is all going to make game development for PS VR2 much simpler than it was for the first generation of hardware. For the moment, we know that Ghostbusters VR, Horizon: Call of the Mountain and Resident Evil Village and No Man’s Sky titles will be coming to the hardware in VR versions.
