Samuel L. Jackson Doesn’t Agree With Tarantino, the Actor Comes to the Defense of Marvel Stars

Samuel L. Jackson, known for the “Avengers” and “Pulp Ficition” films, amongst others, publicly addressed Quentin Tarantino’s words.

This director recently stirred up controversy because he stated that superheroes, rather than actors, were the stars of productions from Marvel Studios.

“The effect of the Marvelization of Hollywood is that we have a number of artists who have made a name for themselves playing these characters, but they are not the stars,? It’s Captain America who is the star. Thor is the same way. I’m not the first person to say that. I think it’s been said a million times: it’s the heroes of franchises who become stars.” – said the filmmaker in the “2 Bears, 1 Cave” podcast.

This statement reached Jackson, who commented briefly:

“It takes an actor to embody these specific characters. And what is a sign of stardom anyway? Excuse me, butts in chairs? What are we even talking about? To me, it’s no controversy to admit that these actors are stars. Chadwick Boseman is the Black Panther. You can’t deny that. And he is a movie star.” the artist said.

Samuel L. Jackson will star in the series “Secret Invasion” next year. It’ worth noting that the men often work together. Jackson appeared in several Tarantino productions, among them “Django” and “The Hateful Eight.”

Besides, for many years the actor has played the role of Nick Fury in Marvel shows such as “Captain Marvel,” “Spider-Man: Far From Home” and “Thor.”
