Gran Touring turns a full twenty-five years old, scoring a very important finish line among the frontrunners in the race for the best video game driving simulator.
Marking the 25th anniversary on the road to the ultimate driving experience, Creator Kazunori Yamauchi has just confirmed the arrival of new content.
Specifically, with a communication through his official Twitter profile, Mr. Kazunori Yamauchi confirmed the arrival of the 25th Anniversary Update.
Inside the simple and concise post, he displayed a teaser image pertaining to the introduction of new vehicles, which will broaden the overall experience put together by Polyphony Digital.
Celebrating this milestone for the Gran Turismo saga, that has become one of the pivotal productions in the digital automotive experience, will see the arrival of new additional content in Gran Turismo 7, which also delighted fans on Sony’s newborn flagship PlayStation 5.
A 25th anniversary update is coming this week, beginning Nov. 21, 2022. There is very little information about all the new features that are to be introduced in the coming days, though it is possible to infer the -at least- three machines that will be added with the free update. These are:
- The Nissan Silvia S4
- The BMW M2 generation F87(at least according to what can be inferred from the silhouette of the car alone, for which we will have to wait for official confirmation once the update arrives on all platforms)
- The Ford Sierra RS Cosworh, though there are doubts about the possible base model or upgraded RS5000 of the car in question
So, although there is no official confirmation about the content that will characterize a very important celebration for fans of the brand, the anticipation and curiosity about what the future of Gran Turismo 7 holds are very high.
The latest iteration of Gran Turismo marked a comeback in a big way for one of the flagship exclusives in PlayStation’s title pool, albeit the reception by video game users and beyond has been somewhat mixed.
Nonetheless, 25th anniversary celebrations with brand new free content will please many gamers, particularly after the arrival of update 1.25 during the previous month.
