DC universe’s future is looking really interesting. James Gunn and Peter Safran are the new heads of DC Studios, and the latest news is that the duo has been given the task of creating one big universe, which will also include games.

In a statement last month, Warner Bros. Discovery announced a major move concerning the world of superheroes – James Gunn and Peter Safran have been tasked with DC Universe films, series and animation.

In fact, the former is expected to be behind the creative side of the projects, with the latter in charge of finance and production.

David Zaslav is not hiding a lot of excitement about the future of DC and, based on a recent report, the head of Warner Bros. Discovery has been meeting with corporate employees to introduce the company’s two new presidents.

This is not unusual, but David Zaslav during the interview confirmed that there is a plan to develop a “bible of a cohesive DC universe” that will include “live-action films, series, animation, games and more.”

The words of Zaslav were picked up by gamers, since there are many indications that it is James Gunn himself who will be behind the direction for future games from the DC universe.

At the moment it’s hard to tell what it will look like, but the creator of “Guardians of the Galaxy” is likely to make the next production from our industry part of a big project.

Disney has followed an identical path – Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars Battlefront 2 are recognized as Star Wars canon.
