GTA Online: Rockstar to Ban NFTs and Cryptocurrencies in Roleplay

The company will ban anybody promoting selling of digital assets.

Roleplay in Grand Theft Auto Online has become more than just a fad. Roleplay is so popular that Rockstar embraces third-party servers, as it believes they add great value to the experience and the community.

Rockstar wants everyone to enjoy Roleplay games safely, so recently it revealed a set of policies and rules that players must follow.

In them it makes it clear that it won’t accept NFTs, Cryptocurrencies or any attempt to promote the sale of digital assets through its game.

GTA Roleplay Accepted by Rockstar, but No NFT or Cryptocurrency

Through a statement, rockstar informed that GTA Online Roleplay will be adjusted to Take-Two’s policies and the same guidelines thought for mods on PC.

For that reason, sanctions will be imposed on players or servers that misuse its brands, franchise and related material.

Furthermore, the community will not be allowed to make new games, maps, quests or campaigns based on Roleplay. The company will also punish those who in any way interfere with its online services.

Commercial exploitation” by selling loot boxes and virtual currencies is strictly forbidden by the company. In the same camp fall sponsorship income, cryptocurrency use or assets such as NFTs.

“Take-Two reserves the right to object to any third party project, or to revise, revoke and/or withdraw this statement at any time at its own discretion. This statement does not constitute a waiver of any rights Take-Two may have with respect to third party projects,” the release said.

Rules are clear and Rockstar emphasized that they are there for Roleplay to “continue to thrive in a safe and friendly manner for many years to come.”
