Spider-Man Miles Morales: PS5 Version Is Better Than PC in Some Ways

The Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales just landed on PC, and specialized YouTube channel ElAnalistaDeBits could not resist the temptation of a nice video comparison with the PlayStation 5 version’s graphics.

Together, we discover the main technical differences between the two editions of Insomniac Games‘ superhero open world.

The graphical presentation of the PC version clearly depends on the hardware mounted under the hood. For this comparative video, ElAnalistaDeBits has used an Intel i9 12900K processor, 32 GB of DDR5 RAM and, as needed, NVIDIA RTX 3080 and 4080 video cards.

For one thing, this expert points out that on PC Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales employs ray tracing on both reflections and shadows, where as PS5 does so only with reflections.

This results, on PC, in improved environmental occlusion in some areas and enhanced shadows over long distances.

It has to be said, however, that on PC the ray tracing reflections currently have problems on several textures, possibly due to a bug that is destined to be fixed.

Despite the fact that on paper the PC has higher technical potential, PS5 version excels in several areas. ElAnalistaDeBits points out that Sony’s console offers higher quality vegetation, longer viewing distance, and noticeably faster loading times.

PC performance also does not appear to be entirely satisfactory at the moment. The feeling, therefore, is right now that the new edition of Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales needs some post-launch work to fully prove its worth. Despite this, on Steam it enjoys an Extremely Positive rating.
