Watch Out EA Sports: UFL Is Just About Ready for Release!

Since announcing the postponement of UFL towards the end of the summer, the team at Strikerz has been working hard to improve the free football game and satisfy fan demands. That process is apparently paying off.

In the latest video diary, developers provided important updates, disclosing that the foundations of the game are complete now and that simply the details remain to be polished: bugs, animations, realism, those are the aspects the team has been focusing on most recently.

Specifically, Strikerz has spent more than a year working on the animation and footage department, tasked with creating realistic and entertaining interludes that can enhance the player’s sense of immersion, such as through the reproduction of camera shake during a cheer.

A lot of attention, reveals the team, has then been given to the behavior of teammates, which will be able to react to each game situation and adapt to the player’s choices.

All of this will be possible thanks to AI assist, but also to direct advice from a select team of professional soccer players.

Strikerz team members also revealed that they have reacted positively to community criticism regarding the game’s realism, so they have reconstructed the virtual athletes’ skeletons from scratch, upgrading them with much more complex movements and bringing their behavior closer to that of a real human skeleton.

Of course, this will affect not only the individual footballer but also various interactions such as game clashes or marking.

We remind you that the free UFL soccer game is expected on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series S|X, Xbox One and PC in 2023.
