Since the arrival of James Gunn and Peter Safran, there has been a lot going on at DC Comics. The studio heads have the difficult task of building a new superhero universe while simultaneously cleaning up the previous one.

Recent reports say we won’t get the third installments of Wonder Woman and Aquaman, and recently it was also reported that Man of Steel 2 has been canceled.

The information was confirmed by Henry Cavill, however, announcing via social media that he won’t be returning to the role of Superman after all. James Gunn, as a screenwriter, has been developing another project that would tell the story of a young Clark Kent.

Recently, director also met with Ben Affleck to discuss with him the possibility of returning to the DC world.

While Ben Affleck is expected to return as Batman in a solo Flash movie, it is likely to be his last appearance in the role.

Let’s recall that the original plans called for Affleck to become the main Bruce Wayne in the DC Comics universe, and also one of the most important people in charge of developing the entire universe.

Affleck even was given the opportunity to direct a Batman movie, which was ultimately dropped, with the new project about the Dark Knight falling to Matt Reeves.

It appears that Affleck is still interested in directing a film for DC Comics. In fact, director recently met with James Gunn and Peter Safran to discuss the possibility of getting behind the camera for one of the yet-to-be-announced projects, which would be set to debut in the coming years.

It’s unclear whether the meeting will lead to a broader collaboration, though it would be another twist in the directing career of Ben Affleck, whose announced a few years ago that he preferred to focus on shooting smaller productions.
