Dead Island 2 Reveals Its Official Bloody Gameplay

Of course, zombies don't stand a chance here.

Dead Island 2 Reveals Its Official Bloody Gameplay

Dead Island 2, 8 years after its announcement and after many delays, seems to finally be on track for completion. The publisher, Deep Silver, has put together a digital demonstration of the open-world gameplay.

The majority of the 15-minute video doesn’t abound in specifics, presenting a group of survivors during the zombie apocalypse stumbling upon a copy of the game in a luxurious villa somewhere in Los Angeles.

The gameplay has just been placed between scenes with real actors. Gameplay itself is unlikely to be too groundbreaking either – we’re mainly engaged in slaughtering zombies in various ways.

We get instead a glimpse of the sun bathed action scene, and a rich arsenal, which includes hammers, tentacles, bear claws, quite a lot of firearms and other constructions.

It certainly is brutal, thanks to the mechanics of F.L.E.S.H., the Fully Locational Evisceration System for Humanoids. Certain zombies are little more than walking skeletons.

Moreover, by biting the arm, gamers can use their own undead powers, entering a murderous rampage.

Elsewhere the video confirms that some gameplay elements will be controllable…. using voice commands and the Alexa Voice Control app, though only on PC and Xbox in English-speaking countries.

There’s also a collector’s edition – the HELL-A Edition. It contains a steelbook for the game disc, season pass, Venice Beach tourist map, 6 tarot cards with conquerors, 2 badges, a badge, Pulp weapon pack and a gold weapon pack.

Following the recent delay, Dead Island 2 will release on April 28 on PC (via Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. Set in a Los Angeles-inspired city, the game features six characters to choose from, and co-op play.
