Death Stranding 2 To Be Released in 2024

Sony is developing the first-person shooter, reveals the artist.

Death Stranding 2 was lavishly announced at this year’s The Game Awards. Hideo Kojima did not mention anything about the exact release date, so it was up to one of Sony’s game character design artists to reveal the shroud of mystery.

On his profile on the ArtStation website, Frank Aliberti added to the list the titles he has worked on in the recent past.

From there, we can find out that the developer has had his fingers on an exclusive production – Firewall Ultra – for PSVR2, Death Stranding 2 and an unnamed shooter from Sony.

The Firewall Ultra will hit the market in 2023 (around the debut of next-gen virtual reality goggles from PlayStation), while Aliberti believes a new Hideo Kojima project (DS2) is set to hit store shelves in 2024, along with an as-yet-unannounced first-person shooter from any of the PlayStation studios.

Firewalk Studios is said to be in charge of the undisclosed first-person shooter project. We could already read on the PlayStation blog in April 2021 that this team is working with Sony since 2018 to deliver a high-budget, networked project to the market, so there’s a good chance that it will be introduced to the community in the coming months.
