Firmware 15.0.1 for Switch: Nintendo Releases Another System Update

Nintendo has just released the new 15.0.1 firmware for it Switch console. The modifications apparently are very sparse this time. Nintendo officially, in the release of the firmware 15.0.1 admits only to the already classic “general system stability fixes,” not going into details.

The more interesting information is provided by the well-known dataminer OatmealDome, who regularly analyzes software released by Nintendo.

It appears that the Japanese corporation has released system update 15.0.1 to complete the list of blocked words in various languages.

Given the small scope of the changes, owners of the Switch do not need to restart the console after installing the new file package.

“The only change in the 15.0.1 update is the addition of the list of blocked words. A number of word ranks have been added to it. It appears that the list has also been modified so that non-offensive words are not accidentally blocked in some languages,” – wrote OatmealDome, which analyzed the contents of the new firmware.
