God of War To Officially Get a Live-Action TV Series From Amazon

Amazon confirmed the first details of “God of War.” It is the next PlayStation production that will be ported to a TV series. And now, the corporation responsible for, inter alia, “Fallout” has presented initial specifics about the project.

Cameron has officially confirmed the start of work on the “God of War” series. Rafe Judkins (screenwriter of “Uncharted” and “Wheel of Time”) has become the story’s showrunner, and Oscar nominees Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby (“Human Children,” “Iron Man,” “The Expanse”) are set to write the script and executive produce along with Judkins.

Sony Pictures Television and Amazon Studios will produce God of War in association with PlayStation Productions.

The work on the series actually began in March, but it was only now that the creative team was finalized, so we received a concrete announcement.

“God of War” will present the events of Norse mythology – players can apparently look forward to an adaptation of the first story in this world:

“When his beloved wife dies, Kratos and his son embark on a dangerous journey to scatter her ashes on the highest peak – his wife’s last wish. Kratos soon realizes that the journey is an epic mission in disguise that will test the bond between father and son and force Kratos to fight new gods and monsters for the fate of the world.”

“God of War” will feature Santa Monica Studio creative director Cory Barlog. However, at present we have not learned who will play the main characters of the story.

It is worth noting that Sony is wasting no time – January sees the release of “The Last of Us” from HBO, work on ” Twisted Metal” from Peacock is completed, while work on “Horizon” (Netflix) and cinematic stories related to “Gran Turismo” and “Ghost of Tsushima” are underway.
