Gothic Apparently Is Coming To Switch: The First Teaser Is Here

An astonishing announcement from the developers.

Gothic Apparently Is Coming To Switch. The First Teaser Is Here

It appears that the Gothic series may be coming to the Nintendo Switch console. The game’s official twitter account has published a rather surprising photo.

In fact, a post with New Year’s wishes appeared on the official Twitter account for the Gothic series. Also attached to the tweet was a photo showing the game Gothic 2, launched just on the Switch.

So, what we can guess is that THQ Nordic has plans to release the production – if not the entire series – on a portable console.

With the year coming to an end, we want to thank each and every single one of you for your overwhelming support. Gothic wouldn’t have become what it is today without all of you. Happy New Year, Nameless Heroes! May the coming years be full of surprises.” – the tweet reads.

The last sentence is particularly eye-catching, overtly suggesting that the developers are preparing something unexpected for players.

While the idea of porting such an old game to Switch may seem quite unbelievable, we should remind you that Risen will soon be coming to the aforementioned console.

A conversion of the first part of the series was announced back in November. A refreshed edition will also hit PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

All signs indicate that THQ Nordic has big plans for Gothic. Indeed, Gothic Remake, a new trailer for which was published last week, is planned for release next year.

We received the first demo of the game back in 2019, though a lot of changes to the production have been decided since then.

As recently announced, this title is expected to reflect the atmosphere of the original from 2001 as faithfully as possible.
