Hideo Kojima Says He Will Become an AI After He Dies

We expected nothing else as an answer to a question about his death.

Hideo Kojima Says He Will Become an AI After He Dies

Hideo Kojima is a very unique and charismatic creator. This is highlighted when he has the opportunity to speak out on different topics. As far as death is concerned, the Metal Gear Solid creator is very clear about it.

Without a doubt, Hideo Kojima is one of the greatest personalities in the world of video games. Creator of such important works for the medium as Metal Gear Solid or Death Stranding is always leaving interesting statements.

This idea of having Hideo Kojima robot is now more real than ever. Why? Well, the creator has given an interview to IGN where he was asked about his legacy and about the path that Kojima Productions will take after the death of the creator, which hopefully will be as late as possible.

Kojima has it clear, he’s thinking of becoming an artificial intelligence. Yeah, that’s right, as you hear it. That dying is not allowed. He wants to continue contributing to the video game industry, no matter what form it takes.

I’ll continue to lead as long as I’m here, and all I care about is that our roots in terms of creation remain intact, he made clear.

But you know, I’ll probably become an AI and stay. You need to be stimulated in a lot of different ways if you want to keep creating new things, so I imagine I’ll keep collaborating with others and assimilating new things, even if I’m an AI.

Kojima definitely knows how to make noise, as the debate of AIs related to content creation is raging. For instance, Hayao Miyazaki already is an outspoken detractor of artistic AI.

Hideo Kojima’s recent interesting remarks

Interviews that the Japanese creative has been giving recently have left us a lot of interesting statements to continue to know him and see what steps he is following for his near future.

Kojima explained why the return of Metal Gear Solid or Silent Hill to Kojima Productions is not going to happen. Go say goodbye to your hopes to see how these games will be taken up again in the hands of the Japanese director.

Apart from Death Stranding 2, he is working on a game with Microsoft. On this enigmatic project, Hideo Kojima said that the company was the one who “understood the concept, while others thought it was crazy”.
