Guerrilla Games officially confirmed that Horizon Forbidden West is going to receive an expanded add-on. Titled Burning Shores, the expansion pack will be released on April 19, but only on PlayStation 5. As the following trailer shows, Aloy this time will explore the ruins of Los Angeles.
This city is ruined and overrun by flora, while streams of lava flow down the hills. This place appears so inhospitable that traveling on the back of a flying Sunwing will be necessary.
In the words of the official description, the heroine “pursues a sinister target in the untamed wilderness of Los Angeles, turned into a volcanic archipelago. She will travel to a dangerous new region south of the Tenakth clan territories.”
Developers are promising a fresh storyline, with the action taking place right after the end of the main story in the basic Horizon Forbidden West.
Of course, there will be no lack of new characters, adventures and more. Guerrilla Games promises to reveal more details soon.
This is all exclusively on current-generation hardware. “In order to be able to realize the technological and creative vision, we made the difficult decision to focus all shipments on preparing an unparalleled experience exclusively for the PlayStation 5,” – the developers explained.
