The year 2022 is coming to an end in just a couple of days and, in spite of the gigantic content leak it suffered a few months ago, GTA VI still hasn’t been officially announced.
With the new year approaching, many wonder when this presentation could take place and, most importantly, just when the game would make its debut in stores.
In his New Year’s predictions, one famous insider dares to put a date on both, and we should not have to wait too long to see GTA VI for the first time. According to Tom Henderson, GTA VI would be unveiled in 2023.
New GTA VI to be announced in 2023
Based on Tom Henderson and his article of video game announcements that will take place in 2023, GTA VI’s unveiling seems one of the most certain ones the insider has.
It would seem quite logical that after all this time of development, GTA VI will be officially unveiled by Rockstar with an expected release date of 2024 or 2025 (via Insider-Gaming).
Insider comments that the company’s last two games, GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 were both announced within two years of their respective releases, so it would not be a far-fetched idea.
“Despite being criticized by the GTA community in the summer of 2021 for my report, I said that GTA 6 will launch in 2024 or 2025, which is a firm date that I still believe is happening. A 2023 announcement would line up perfectly with these years, especially if you’re familiar with how Rockstar Games and Take-Two have generally handled their announcements and game releases in the past.” comments Henderson.
For the moment there is no adjacent indication that the official presentation of GTA VI may be near, so we’ll have to continue to wait for news from Rockstar officially.
Rockstar said that the leak would not affect the initial plans for the game and that it will be shown when the time is right. We will see if 2023 is the right time.
