New Details About the Game Awards 2022: We Now Know the Estimated Duration of the Event

A few days ago Geoff Keighley already announced that The Game Awards 2022 gala would be shorter than last year’s edition.

Sadly, specific information on the length of the event was missing at the time. But the journalist decided to share additional details and revealed approximately how much time gamers who plan to follow the said event live should reserve.

During one of his recent broadcasts on Twitch.tv, Geoff Keighley announced that The Game Awards 2022 gala will last about 2.5 hours.

The journalist notes, however, that the event’s final length may still change slightly after all the rehearsals are completed.

The entire event may also get slightly longer depending on the developers’ statements. Keighley stresses, though, that organizers are “definitely” trying to shorten the event’s duration.

The information is sure to please players who complained about the length of last year’s edition. There is, however, some bad news for those who intend to take part in the drawing for free Steam Deck devices.

For it is worth recalling that Valve will be giving away one copy of the said hardware every minute during The Game Awards 2022. You can find more information on the subject at this link.

Lastly, we remind you that The Game Awards 2022 will take place on the night of Thursday (December 8) to Friday (December 9).

Broadcast will begin at around 9 PM ET, while the actual part of the event should start at 9.30 PM. The whole event can be watched live on Twitch.tv and YouTube platforms.
