PlayStation 5 Hacks: 9 Practical Settings You Must Know

Did you know all these PlayStation 5 hacks?

When compared directly with the PS4, the PlayStation 5 has changed quite a bit – and more than just in terms of hardware. Even new software features have been added to the current console by Sony but some of them are deeply embedded in the settings menus. Let us tell you where you can find these PlayStation 5 hacks.

The PlayStation 5’s console as well as the included controller are packed with fascinating hardware and software offering numerous new features to its users. Some of them, however, are more difficult to find than one might think. We’re going to reveal a few secret features of the PlayStation 5 console that you might not have noticed yet!

9- Open hidden browser on PS5: This workaround works

If you have clicked through the menu of the PlayStation 5, you probably noticed that the console no longer seems to have a browser on board out of the box. However, if you nevertheless want to surf the web with your console, you have to take a detour. To open the hidden browser, a friend has to send you a message containing a link via the PSN.

Afterwards, you can open this link and the secret browser of the PS5 launches as if by magic! However, the only problem is that the browser is quite basic. Not even a URL bar is available that you can use to navigate to another page. This is a nice gimmick, but it won’t be of much use to you.

PlayStation 5 Hacks

8- Controller battery always empty? You can extend the battery life this way.

The PlayStation 5 controller is stuffed with new features and is currently the real highlight of the new console. But the problem is that the battery is drained within a few hours – which is a pain!

Those who do not want to constantly connect their controller for charging can disable the peripheral’s speakers in the options. You will have to do without the sound coming out of your controller this way, but the device will at least run a bit longer than usual.

You can do this as follows:

One more tip to save battery: Decrease the controller’s vibration and the intensity of the trigger effect. You can find the corresponding settings in the same menu.

7- Mute by pressing a button: You can mute the PS5 this easily!

You might be in the middle of a game and have the stereo cranked up a bit too high. However, you can still hear that your better half is actually trying to ask you a question. Up until now, you had to reach for the remote on the table and turn down the volume.

However, this is now a thing of the past! By briefly pressing the small mute button on the DualSense controller, located directly under the PlayStation logo, you can mute the entire console. That’s really handy!

6- The Perfect Settings for Every PlayStation 5 Game

Are you tired of going into the settings every time you start a game the first time and customizing them to your needs? With the PS5, you don’t have to anymore! In the Settings under the menu item “Saved Data and Game/App Settings”, you will be able to define which options you would like to activate by default in your games under “Game Presets”.

These range from the difficulty level to inverting the controls to the option of choosing whether you’d rather play in performance or resolution mode.

5- Do not want spoilers? This PlayStation 5 option will protect you

You can also find the “Spoiler Warnings” option in the same submenu. When you activate this option, the system will warn you about game spoilers. Thereby, you can choose whether you want to be warned about content that has been flagged as a spoiler by the developers or whether you prefer to keep everything away from you that you have not yet seen in the game yourself.

4- Talking instead of typing: Use voice input of the PS5 controller

A new feature of the DualSense controller of the PS5 is the built-in microphone. You can not only talk to your friends when you are in a group, but you can also save yourself the hassle of typing.

You can simply select the microphone icon on the digital keyboard in the text fields to activate voice input. A corresponding message will then appear in the text field, asking you to speak into the microphone.

Tip: You better speak loudly and clearly so that the voice recognition produces the best results.

3- PlayStation 5 videos: Record game scenes in 4K

Those who use the recording function of the PlayStation 5 and want the best possible image quality can make the appropriate settings under “Settings” -> “Recordings and Transmissions” -> “Recordings” -> “Video Clip Format”. First select “Highest efficiency (WebM)” under “File type”, and then you can switch from Full HD to 4K under “Recording resolution”.

2- Install PS5 games on the go and free up memory in case of doubt

The fact that PlayStation games can be installed on the console while on the go using the corresponding smartphone app is now old hat. However, the PS5 now goes one step further. In case your storage space is not enough for the installation of the desired game, you can directly kick other titles off the console using your smartphone to free up some space. Just brilliant!

1- PS5 Trophies: Save short video instead of screenshot

For PS4 players, when you earn a trophy, the console will also take a screenshot to capture a souvenir of your triumph. With the PS5, you will now be able to save a short video clip instead, up to a maximum length of 30 seconds.

You can activate the new feature by navigating to “Recordings and Transmissions” in the settings and then to “Trophies”.
