Resident Evil Code Veronica Remake Likely Coming!

Capcom has requested cancellation of a fan project.

Resident Evil Code Veronica Remake Likely Coming!

Currently we are waiting for the release of Resident Evil 4 Remake, however, Capcom is not resting on its laurels and, based on the latest rumors, the company has already began preparations for the creation of a full-fledged refresh of Resident Evil Code: Veronica.

We recently heard about the registration of a new trademark for the game, and the day the Christmas holidays began, information hit the web that the Japanese producer had asked fans of the series to cancel work on a fan remake of Resident Evil Code: Veronica.

Capcom isn’t known for blocking fan works, and so we can assume that there is indeed something to it. Those in charge of the said project – in a message to the audience via a channel on Discord – said that they had not received any indication that Resident Evil Code: Veronica Remake was being made.

But that they were hoping that Japanese developers were quietly tinkering with it already, and the dedicated Resident Evil community could support the official work rather than the fan project.

Obviously, one must take into account the fact that Capcom – presumably working on the remake in question – could not reveal their plans to people not connected with the company.

Or even if they offered talented developers and at the same time fans of the series the opportunity to work on an official refresh, those people still could not reveal “the real reason for the cancellation of the fan project.”
